Mrs. Lewis was a mother to all, a friend, confidant, mentor and passionate about her patients. She was fearless, spoke her mind, but was always respectful. I had the honor of working with her at Jordan and getting to know her and her family. Although she has parted from us, she has left all of us with great memories. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My heart hurts for you family, I know the pain that comes with the loss of a mom. Your mom is dancing with Jesus, draped in His righteousness and love. I want to be sad, but I can see your mom in my minds eye and she has never been happier. She loved you all so much and talked of her family often. You were so blessed to have such a wonderful, loving mother. I am blessed beyond measure to have known her and called her my friend. God bless you all.

Ms Lewis was a gentle but firm giant who stood barely 5 feet tall. Her charisma, kindness, wisdom and elegance however, superceeded all. Ms Lewis is one of the most fantastic and extraordinary person I have known, This is very evident in the many lives she has touched through the abundance of love she has shown. Ms Lewis, as you make an exit from this world to the next, We are all saddened by your loss and many are preplexed. But the angels in heaven are planning a welcoming party for you. Little do they know that you will be a force to be reckoned with too. Good bye and travel safe.
Love Alton Sandford

To all of Deloris' family please accept our deepest sympathy in the passing of in the passing of this wonderful, energetic, full-of-fun lady. We knew her when we all attended Congress Bible Chapel.Robin, as a Jamaican, especially enjoyed many "down-home" discussions with her. How many laughs we had together. We admired her work ethic, her strong family, her respect for education and of course her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Yvonne and Beverley, our special love and sympathy. May you take comfort in knowing that your dear Mom is with her Savior. We are so sorry that we cannot join you this weekend, because we are leaving for Chicago on Thursday. Love Robin and Joan

It is with great sadness that I send my condolences, and at the same time It has been an honor knowing Dr. Lewis, she was the midwife for all of my children. I did not know what a midwife was until I met her and there will never be another midwife like her, she was so compassionate and kind. She was an angel here on earth and I know she is now an angel with wings in heaven!

To the family of Deloris:
My sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Deloris. I had the HONOR of working along side of her in the late "60's at Strong Memorial Hospital. She was a joy to be around, always teaching me, helping me out and most of all, respected me as a person. Her infectious laugh always lifted my spirits. I had the pleasure of meeting her again last year at Clinton Crossings Orthopedics while waiting for an appointment. Dottie was sitting behind me and I knew immediately that it was her by her "accent" and that laugh. I reintroduced myself to her and we reminiced the past when at Strong. What a wonderful lady she was! I will always hold her close to my heart as I have all these years past. She is with our Lord Jesus now , safe in his arms and you will be united again one day with her. God bless you for having this GREAT lady in your life!
Sincerely, Laura Cochi

A nicer lady you won't meet and the emphasis is on "lady". Mrs. Lewis epitomized grace, kindness and love. Her caring way and wonderful smile made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. I especially admire her dedication to sharing her culture with everyone she came into contact with. Her legacy & caring lives on in her daughters - Yvonne and Beverly - I will say this when I see you - I am so happy to have met your mother. Livie and I will do our best to continue her life-long work by continuing to proudly promote Jamaica in every way that we can. I will miss her poise and her grace but we will be reminded of them when we see you guys. You made her proud. She will be surely missed.

Dear Mr Lewis and family, please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Mrs Lewis one of the most beautiful persons I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Never ever interacted with her when she wasn't positive and up-beat. She is a wonderful role model as a person, strong woman and colleage. She has been a light to many women during "dark" situations in their lives and the testimonies of those women will resound for many years to come. She made a difference and She will be missed.
