Deepest Condolences to my cousin, Travara and the rest of the Family:
Although we may live near or far and wide, May God be forever by your side.
God's Love, His laws, and the Word is what we need, so that in this earthly life we can succeed;
Let's live our lives RIGHT, for our time of sleep is in future's sight.
It is my prayer that one day we will see our loved ones who "knew" the KING, so that when through the clouds Jesus comes, we can forever give praise and HEAVENLY sing!
Uncle Joe, when Jesus comes piercing through the clouds of Angels, I pray you will be given that beautiful robe of immortality, a golden guitar, a beaming white smile and singing God's praises in the heavenly choir!

Uncle Joe,
Allow me to preface my remarks by first expressing my heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
Meeting Joe some 32 years ago could've been intimidatingly uncomfortable for most people, but for me, not at all. You see, he stood tall, as did my father. Had an Afro, as did my father, and was the life of the party; you guessed it, as was my father.
When my wife Patricia introduced me to Joe, Fred and Booker, the brother's welcomed me into the family graciously. And the respect and comradery we all shared toward one another was quite enriching to say the least. Sadly, my friend is no longer.
However, I'm reminded of the last moments we shared together, while in his back yard looking at his "Ole School" Cadillac (I believe it was) in the garage. You see, I, like Joe, loved older vehicles. And boy did we both enjoy reminiscing about the beauty and power the older model cars had vs. the newer one's made today.
I'm going to miss my dear friend immensely! Sleep on my good brother, uncle and friend, sleep on.
God Bless-
P

Uncle Joe, you were always special to our family. I thank you so much for sharing your love, your recordings and your conversations with me. During the later days of your life you frequently shared Jesus with me, conversations that helped me grow stronger in the Lord. You shared how you enjoyed picking up people for church and witnessing, doing your part to let people know about Jesus and about your church. One day we will have those conversations again.
Love you.
Your niece,
Shirley Gamble Graham

May the Lord bless and strengthen the family as they mourn the loss of a great man who was there for many. He will be greatly missed, but we that knew him will cherish the fond memories and the fun times, recalling his laughter of past times. May he rest in peace from work well done here on earth.
