Please share a memory of Constance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Constance M. Kelly or affectionately known as Connie and Aunt Connie by family and friends was born August 31, 1940 in Manhattan New York to the late Frank and Grace (Brinson) Kelly. Constance was the eldest of three children. Constance was confirmed Constance Marie Catherine Kelly and graduated from St. Michael’s Academy in Manhattan, New York. She was involved in the Legionnaires Club, The Michaelite (school yearbook), orchestra, played basketball and was on the school’s dance committee. Constance also was formally trained in classical piano. She attended Our Lady of Victory, Rochester, New York in her later years. Constance married early in life and moved to Rochester, New York where she remained the rest of her life. She mothered five beautiful children through that union. Constance was a devoted stay-at-home Mom who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking, artistry and knowledgeability. Constance is best known for her friendly, unselfish and thoughtful demeanor. She would send timely correspondence to family and friends - always having just the right card for the occasion. She enjoyed playing BINGO and volunteering. She had a joyful spirit and great sense of humor. Constance spent her last years at Kirkhaven SeniorsFirst Nursing Home. She was cared for with kindness and respect by a great staff on the 2nd Floor house. She was fond of the activities and was most proud of the garden she planted with Janet. The family is grateful to Kirkhaven and Jennifer Englert, NP/OPTUM for their kindness and consideration during her last hours. Constance was born into eternal rest and peace on January 5, 2021. Constance was preceded in death by her companion, Theron (Frank) Franklin and grandson, Jonathan D C McInsosh. She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved children: Alexis M. (Joel) Rambo of FL, Portland F. Smith of FL, R. Wesley (Brenda) Smith of VA, Paula E. Smith and Christopher M. Smith, both of Rochester NY; loving sisters: Christina T. Cuffee of DE and Yvonne C. Pressley of DE; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. We would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness. Constance was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, aunt, family member and friend and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
