No Words could ever express the loss and heartache that his family, friends and we are feeling right now, it's so difficult and hard to believe that Steve has left us so soon. I have known Steve and Jenni for 20+ years. I still remember the day I introduced them to each other, we all had such crazy fun times together. They drove each other crazy, but they were so very perfect for each other. I've watched Steve grow from a bachelor to a fianc'e to a devoted father over the years. They fell in love and had 2 wonderful boys together, which were his world! Jenni, Steven and Robert were his everything, Steve was so proud of the little empire he had created for himself. Steve turned out to be an awsome family man, he made his parents proud and blessed them with 2 wonderful grandchildren and daughter in law, in which his legacy will go on. I know I missed alot of special moments and occasions over the years cause life gets busy and hectic, but I promise I will do better and make it a priority to be there for my best friend Jenni and the boys while Steve is gone. Steve and Jenni have not only been my very close friends but also my children's god parents, and I hope to keep us closer in the years to come. My deepest condolences, to Jenni, Steven, Robert and all his family and friends...Steve may be gone but he will never be forgotten, he has left a footprint on all our hearts in so many different ways. Lots of Love and prayers from Lisa Goff, Scott Boyce & Toni and James Goff

I don’t even know what to say. This is heartbreaking. Blake and I just seen you two weeks ago at country sweet. We won’t forget that smile and your generous sole. You were so passionate about your family friends and football. There’s no doubt that you have left a huge mark on every child and adult that crossed your path. We will be forever grateful for knowing you !

I will never forget when you wanted me to play on your team rather than cheering or when i heard “kuriatnyk” from the other side of the park because you wanted me to condition your boys for you! So dedicated and such a great man, that wanted nothing but the best for everyone. you will truly be missed & forever a part of the jr. comet family ❤️

What can I say about Steve aka Coach Steve aka Mahar.
I have had the pleasure of knowing him for 12 years. What started out as a sports parent friendship developed into something permanent and years round.
Steve loved food and cooking which led to the creation of the most awful looking concrete block “grill” you ever saw. It was so hideous but oh my god could he cook on it.
Steve had a laugh that was all encompassing. It was such a deep belly laugh you could feel it in your soul. He had me in hysterics so much of our time together and there was a lot of time together, Nothing cements a friendship like watching your kids get tackled to the ground or better yet them slamming their opponent to the ground.
Steve and I got to share some of our favorite things, food, football and our kids. Our youngest grew up together terrorizing the Comets sidelines until they themselves graduated from the program. We traveled together for 7&7 tournaments, Syracuse game, where he was the only one that helped me up as I lay sprawled on the concrete. We would often transport kids that weren’t even ours. But the love of football was the driving force and we had to make as many football devotees as we could.
I will forever miss our sideline time with Big Tony. When Robert gets his next personal foul or a ref gives another call who will throw their hat at me.
Steve was the kindest soul, he mentored kids many of us would have given up on. I can still here him every year saying “NO Beck, this kid needs us. I’ll talk to him”. We can get him back on track.
Steven- He was so very very proud of you. Not just your accomplishment of Syracuse, but the man you had become. You going through the line with me at the last away game is forever in my soul. You are such as remarkable person, He will continue to watch over and guide you from heaven.
And his beautiful Jenni. Me, asking when is Jenni coming? If it was warm, he would say She’s coming. She has to find her blankets. If it was cold, he would say you know Jenni It’s too cold She’s on the couch under a mountain of blankets. He loved you so much. You brought him so much joy and gave him his 2 greatest accomplishments.
Jenni and talked on Wed. There are some people who walk toward you when you are in crisis and some that slowly back away. Steve would run towards you, put you in a giant bear hug and you knew you would get through it and he would be there standing besides you.
Steve you have touched so many lives. I will miss you dear friend. Maybe this Football Sunday you can sit and finally watch an NFL game. We haven’t in so many years. I will even choke down a Mich Ultra and watch the raiders.

It has been a long time since we saw each other old friend. But I know if I saw you tomorrow it would be the same as old times. We had crazy times that I will never forget. Rest In Peace.

We’re all heartbroken. Steve was a wonderful father & partner. His family was his life. He always made sure he fed me my favorite foods when I visited. Like the amazing taco tower! He made me feel welcome & at home. He set an example for the boys of what it meant to have goals & work diligently towards achieving them. Whether he was father, partner, son, cousin, friend, or coach, our world will feel the void left by him. Miss you Steve! Carol (& Sam Too)

My heart is broken . I will do my best to keep the kids in the path that you and they planned together . You were the best father any child could have wanted . You left too soon . We will miss you beyond words and cherish the memories we have . And best believe I'm touching and moving around all your stuff !!
