Obituary of Michael Allen

Mr. Michael A. Allen Sr., son of the late Donnie and Oglatha Blue Allen was born September 20th, 1949 in Richmond County North Carolina. Michael attended Leak Street High School in Rockingham, North Carolina where he was known by most. He graduated in 1967 before joining the military in 1969. Michael was joined in Holy Matrimony to Katie Maxine Robinson in 1969. Shortly after the birth of their second child, Michael and Katie relocated to Rochester, New York. There, they continued to grow as a family with the addition of two more children. Michael was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years. After a massive heart attack in 1991, Michael recuperated and embraced life with a new outlook. Michael and Katie decided to move back to their roots in North Carolina in 2002. Michael spent his remaining years "living it up" with his loving wife. He leaves his loving memory to: his wife, Katie Maxine of Hamlet, NC; one son, Michael A. Allen II of Rochester, NY; two daughters Dawn S. Allen of Charlotte, NC; Erika M. McKamey (James) of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter who preceded him in death, Kaminna M. Allen; two brothers Cecil Wall (Raynell) of Capitol Heights, MD; Donnie Allen Jr. (Carolyn) of Bartow, FL; one brother who preceded him in death, Bobby Blue; three sisters Hazel Allen Haygood (James) of Rockingham, NC; Linda Allen Thomas (Lynwood) of Charlotte, NC; Gloria Allen Ratliff of Rockingham, NC; eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Rd (Penfield).
