A TIME TO BE BORN: Mariah Ford Killings was born on May 18, 1925 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Mr.& Mrs. Dan & Ola Ford.
A TIME TO PLANT: Continually sought to cultivate Christian values in her home among 10 children. She served her large family as an excellent cook, devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother.
A TIME TO BUILD UP: Attended primary and secondary schools in Bainbridge, Georgia where she was also a devout member of Second Morning Star Baptist Church. She later moved to Rochester, NY where she worked at Highland Hospital.
A TIME TO LAUGH: Her infectious smile and laughter were a great comfort and inspiration to her family, friends and loved ones. For years, she spent many Saturday afternoons preparing her specialty collard greens and dressing in the company of her children and grandchildren.
A TIME TO PLUCK UP: God walked through his garden and plucked His fully bloomed flower at 1:20 p.m. on February 27, 2007 at Unity Health's Park Ridge Living Center.
A TIME TO KEEP: She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Eddie Killings, Sr.; children, Eddie Killings, Jr., Danny Killings, Dwight Killings, Johnny Killings and wife Ardelia, Albert Killings, Margaret Finch and husband Bruce, Arthur Killings, Lena Wilcox and husband Darryl, Carolene Smith and husband Harold of Apex, North Carolina & pre-deceased by her daughter Clara Mae Smith; a host of grandchildren & great-grandchildren. One brother, John L. Ford and wife Lorane of Webster, Florida.
Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
