When I knew Craig he was on his way to becoming the wonderful man so well remembered by all those who loved him in the other entries on this page. My memories are of a passionate, thoughtful, caring, charasmatic young man whom I looked up to a great deal. My thoughts are with all of you who loved Craig...

On my first date with Greg I wasn't sure if his name was Greg or Craig! Greg, Craig & I became good friends while he stayed here in Atlanta. He was a wonderful man and he'll be greatly missed. Dear Tensley Family: I had the privilege of working with Craig at Tucker Printers and have many fond memories of his unmatched warmth and sincerity. Professionally, I always admired Craig's humility and willingness to listen. I also appreciate that Craig always took the time to see how things were going in my life. I had the pleasure of meeting Janelle at the company picnic last year and was so impressed by Janelle as a young lady. I could see the pride well up in Craig as he introduced her to everyone. As many here have commented, no one who has met Craig will ever be able to forget his smile. To Velma, Jack, Stacey, Jackie, & Dearest Janelle,
I've known Craig & his brothers since they were young & all used to pile in the back of my car, along with my 3 kids, to go to Western Eagles football practice. My little Pontiac Phoenix was filled with shoulder pads, blue jerseys, & a whole lot of laughter & excitement!
I was the team medic, but when I got ill & ended up in the hospital, the Tensely boys came to see me & told the woman at the visitor's desk I was their mom so they could come up to see me, & give me hugs! I was so honored! Craig's smile & laugh were infectious even then.
I last saw Craig at Tara & Jeff's wedding. He gave me a great big bear hug & a great big smile.
My heart goes out to all of you at this very sad time. I was at calling hours last night & have never seen so many people paying their respects. You must all feel very proud knowing the many lives Craig touched and the many hearts he gladdened.
In this difficult time & in the months to come may you find comfort in knowing what a gift Craig was. He has left a legacy of friendship and love. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Blessings, Gail

We hugged and at the same moment spoke about how we haven't seen each other in years.

No one can explain why these tragedies have to happen in our lives, but somehow we are asked to bear the pain and burden of it all. Thank God for the memories and the good times and the love of family and friends to hold you in their care. Healing comes with knowing that Craig will live in Janelle and she will experience over time how much he is a part of her and the rest of her(his) family. Healing also comes with sharing the memories and your humor which is undoubtedly wrapped up in all of those memories. Laughter and tears are present for cleansing.

In true Craig Tensley fashion, he spent as much time chatting with my friends and co-workers, whom he had just met, as he did with me. Craig made me laugh so much. He instantly was a friend to anyone who met him. Unfortunately, I only got to meet him just over a year ago. In that time, we had so much fun and he always knew how to make every person feel on top of the world. He was always smiling. I will miss him so much. I give my condolences to his family. Craig is an example of how someone should be on this Earth making everyone a friend, and no one an enemy!

This life mattered Ready or not, someday it all comes to an end. All the things collected, treasured or forgotten, pass to someone else. Wealth, fame and temporal power shrivel to irrelevance. It matters not what was owned or owed. Grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies finally disappear. Hopes, ambitions, and to-do lists expire. It no longer matters where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived. No matter whether you were beautiful, or brilliant Gender and skin colour are irrelevant. So what matters? How is the value of our days measured?
What matters is not what we bought, but what we built; not what we got, but what we gave. What matters is not our success, but our significance. What matters is not what we learnt but what we taught. What matters is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate our example. What matters is not our competence, but our character. What matters is not how many people we knew, but how many people will feel a lasting loss when we are gone. What matters is not our memories, but the memories that live in those who loved us. What matters is how long we will be remembered, by whom and for what. Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance, but a matter of choice.
Yes my friends. This life that we remember mattered.

Regretably we are unable to attend to pay our respects to Craig. We send our deepest love and condolences to the Tensley Family. In remembering Craig we only think of his infiltrating smile, humour, friendship, and devotion to family with much pride. Listening to him proudly brag about his mom's accomplishments with sparkling eyes, wearing his heart on his sleeve as he spoke about Janelle as his #1 girl, and idolizing Jack, Stacy, and Jack Jr. Craig you are sorrowfully missed. The memory of the energetic, happy life you lived will forever be attached to your name Craig(Smiley).

Mike Robinson posted a condolence
Monday, June 11, 2007
My name is Mike Robinson and we have lost a beautiful person in this world
Let me share the type of person Craig was. My Mother had a stroke in December. Craig left his home at 11pm and came to my house and stayed with me till 3am before I drove to Michigan. Showing me that he was a friend and he cared about me in my time of need. That is a rare person to care that much and leaves there home for a friend.
Another special moment was when my 6 year old daughter who loved Craig so much. Saw my wife and I in tears and knew that Craig was gone. Said to me in her soft little voice. "I'm Sad," I asked why? She replied. "He was my friend and he liked me," I cannot tell you how significant those words are from my little girls mouth."
Craig did love everyone!! He took the time to show everyone that he cared about them.
That is special.
I will miss our friendship and my family will miss him as well.
We love you here in the Robinson home.

Charisma, charm, personality, sincerity, these are but a few words that describe C-Dog (as I lovingly know him). Few people in this world could light up a room with their smile the way that Craig did. Every time I saw him the first quetion he asked was "how's your family." This is of course what a caring man/daddy does, few truly cared as much as he... This is one of many reasons that made him special. Its by no means an answer, but the only way I rationalize why "the good die young," is that in my heart I feel God has decided that he needs his angels closer to him. Craig was an ambitions guy, I'm sure God had allot of plans in store, nontheless I'll miss you brother!!!
Love, Wayne

Jeff and I would like to share our condolences with all of Craig's loved ones. He seemed to have that contagious happy energy that everyone comments about. I knew Craig from high school and Jeff enjoyed his competition on the basketball court, but whenever we would run into him we always would comment on "what a nice guy he was". It's too bad we wait until someone is gone to reflect in this way. Craig will be missed by many.

I was watching R news at 6:30 am on Sunday morning hoping that I had some quiet time before my kids woke up for the day. It was then that I heard the terrible news. I grabbed my mouth and uttered under my breath "oh, no, not Craig", saddely enough it was true... I reminisced all day in my mind about our years in high school together and how nice of a guy that he always was, about how his smile was infectious and also about how much I will miss never being able to speak to him again.
To his family - I am sorry for your loss, may you gain some peace knowing what a wonderful person you raised.

Dear Tensley Family and Friends,
Craig and I met while working together at Clear Cahnnel Communications. Immediately it became apparent that we would become friends.
Over the years I had come to rely on Craig's friendship, advise and councel as my life changed and took different directions. On my recent visit home to move my finace down from Rochester I spoke with Craig several times and Tammy and I were dissapointed not to be able to see him at her graduation party at my parents house. We will miss Craig with all our heart, for he was truly a friend for life for both of us.
Craig and I would often joke about how we would be sitting on a park bench someday in our old age joking and sharing life stories.
I am honored to have had Craig in my life and know that everyone that we met together with greatly miss him and his perfect smile.
Respectfully,
Linwood J. Williams and Tammy A. Mott
