Mrs. McKay was a wonderful Physical Education teacher while I attended East Jr. Sr. High school in 1984-1990. Mrs. McKay was a warm light-hearted woman who taught me to be responsible for my actions..and allow my actions to speak for me and that they would not go unnoticed if the were respectable honest actions. Mrs. McKay was a beautiful woman with an amazing heart of gold. My support and heart-felt feelings go out to her and her family. A message to Marc: You may not remember me, but we attended East High school together. I know how you're feeling right now. I was in that same "place" 6 years ago when my mother "went home". There will be times when you'll need her wisdom...believe me, she's already given it to you. There will be times when things come about..and you will hear her voice. Don't think for one second that you are losing it. She is talking to you..but it is up to you to listen. Some will say it's a memory of the things that your mother has said to you. Believe me, it's really her letting you know that she is and always will be with you when you need her most. I still her my mothers voice when I need her most. You'll never get use to her "going home"..but it will get easier to accept. She has served our Lord..and she has completed her purpose. Take care of yourself and your family.... Love, Renee' Mills

I obviously never had the privilege of knowing Mrs. McKay. However, having known Leisha, I have to believe that she was an awesome lady to have raised such an awesome daughter! I noted that on Saturday, Mrs. Mckay's life will be remembered and celebrated. Certainly the passing of a loved one is a hard time for those left behind. Hoever, it is as much a part of life as life itself. Mrs. McKay will move on to an eternal reward, leaving those behind to honor her memory, cherish her love, and reflect her teachings in their lives. I hope that while you morun her loss, that you truly celebrate her legacy. Through those whose lives she touched, her influence will live on! Please accept my sincere expression of sympathy.
