Obituary of James Thomas

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Tolliver Thomas, also known as "JT", was sent to Lillie Mae Stringer and Joe Thomas, Sr. on February 11, 1945 in Banks, Alabama. James was a very outgoing and a friend to all that knew him. He was a kind, intelligent, and humorous man even though his gruff demeanor would cover that up sometimes. James joined the Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged. After the service he then joined the Plumbers Local 13 where he worked until 2000. "JT" to his family and friends had many interests in life such as working on cars, plumbing, and karate films, just to name a few. His favorite love in life though came when he watched his sons or grandchildren play sports. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a supportive dedicated son and brother, and was a revered uncle to his nieces and nephews. On July 5, 2007 the Lord called James Tolliver Thomas back home. He is now in a better place where there is no pain or suffering. "JT" was a man who touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all those he met. He will be cherished and missed by his wife, Lelia Thomas; children, Rodney (Faye), Chris (Stephanie) and Brannon (Lynette); fourteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother, James Goolsby; sister, Burnell Fluitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
