Muriel was a special person to me, not only for her warmth, but also for her enthusiastic support of parks issues. She was a driving force in Citizen's for the Integrity of Greece Canal Park. I first met her in person in 2001 in conjunction with the soccer stadium issue. She understood the myriad of issues troubling parks advocates throughout the county at that time, such as commercialism and over development, and became a member of Monroe County People for Parks. Her positive energy was buoying for me, and this organization. Her stream of postcards and letters to political figures and county officials were right-on, and at the very least, entertaining. She cared and we loved her for that. She will be missed by all who knew her.
