Byron: February 3, 2009. Predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Smathers. Survived by his wife, Angela; children, Samantha Smathers of Batavia, Amanda Smathers of Elba, Dustin Smathers of Byron and Dale Smathers Jr. of Irondequoit; grandchildren, Skyler Hampton and Tristan Smathers; father, Elmer (Dorothy) Smathers of Irondequoit; brother, Thomas (Gayle) Smathers of Greece; sister, Elaine (Robert) Evans of Webster; several nieces, nephews, devoted friends and extended family at Meikle Automation, Gates, NY.
Dale was an avid hunter and volunteer with the Bergen Swamp Preservation Society and Hiscock Dig. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family c/o Angela Smathers, P.O. Box 121, Byron, NY 14422.
