I attended middle & high school with Cathy Heard, and what I remember the most about her was the gift that God had given her to sing, as well as her father Deacon Heard and how whenever she did you felt it to the core of your being!Cathy freely shared her gift with the world, she was a blessing to the universe in more ways than one. My thoughts and prayers are with the Heard/Rayam family, and just know that heaven truly has a new angel singing in the choir! Blessings & Peace, Tracy

Cathy was one of my very first students at School 16, where I spent 33 years teaching music. I learned from her talent that a teacher must adapt to the gifts of the student. When I met Cathy, I could play difficult music. Cathy came in singing a song I had taught from the music book called "Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley".She added the gospel style to it. When I tried to play the piano the way it was in the teacher's book, it did not fit. I knew that I was going to have to take a chance on myself and try to play by ear a more gospel style. It worked. We were a team and I never forgot her, her gift, or how God sent her to set me on the right path for many more children.
In the Bible, it tells us in Zephaniah "Sing, O Daughter of Zion!" Cathy did that her whole life. And it also tells us that "God will rejoice over you with singing." God is rejoicing because his singing angel is there with him. She will make a place for us and wait for us if we believe and have that same relationship with the Lord that I KNOW she had. Just listening to her sing that song as a 11 year old kid told me how much she love God and how it was heard in her voice.
GOd bless you all....
