Obituary of George Mitchell
Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George W. Mitchell, better known as Bozo, was born in Segura, Louisiana on July 21, 1932 to the late Peter and Louise Vallot Mitchell.
His family migrated to Rochester, New York while he was a teenager and he attended Madison High School. While in high school he met his future wife, Willie Ruth Robinson (Mitchell) . Their union produced two children, George W. Mitchell, Jr. and Karen A. Mitchell.
George entered the United States Air Force and was trained to become a photographer. His experience led the way once he was discharged to work with the late Rocky Simmons photographing many Rochesterians.
Bozo as he was known to all who knew him was gifted with the ability to work in many trades. He was an excellent plumber and could build a house from the ground up. He was also an exceptional electrician. Many said he was a jack of all trades.
Having entered into rest on October 10, 2009, besides his two children he is survived by five grandchildren, Kyle Mitchell, Benjamin Thomas and Amanda Thomas of Rochester, New York; Jennifer and Kristen Mitchell of Randolph, Mass. and one great grandchild Kyle Mitchell. He also leaves his brother John and his wife Constance along with a niece, Constance Jefferson of Rochester. He is also survived by his loving ex-wife Willie Ruth Mitchell of Rochester, New York along with many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
George, we love you and will miss you...
Fr. Paul Gitau, Celebrant.
