Obituary of Annie Mae Martin

Annie Mae Martin was born to Frank and Leola Martin on October 26,
1920 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She attended the public school system there. Annie
worked as a maid until she moved to Apopka, Florida in the 1970's. There,
she was employed at Sunland Hospital. She also worked from her home as
a hair-dresser. She later moved to New York City, where she found
employment as a nanny and housekeeper. Her final move was to
Rochester, New York. During her time here, she became disabled.
Annie became a member of Jesus Christ Temple House of Prayer, under the
leadership of Bishop Hepburn. She later moved her membership to
Powerhouse Kingdom Church of Jesus Christ, under the leadership of
Bishop Melvin. Mother Martin was at St. Anne's Nursing Home until
her passing. She found great pleasure in singing. She also enjoyed fishing.
Mother Annie Martin departed this earthly life on March 6, 2015.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Leola; her daughter:
Frankie M. Andrews; 3 sisters: Annie Lou Roberson, Katie Martin, and
Mattie Riddle; 3 brothers: Joe Martin, David Lee Martin, and Dixie
Tucker.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 brothers: Tebby Martin and Frank
(Tina) Martin;2 sisters: Francis (Henry) Wilson, and Lucille Martin; 3
grandchildren: Diane (Roland) Johnson, Joann (James) Swan, and Albert
L. Andrews; 36 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, a host
of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Annie had a special love for Joseph (Cecilia) Small, Jr., and Earline
Owens (a young lady that she watched grow up).
