Obituary of Charlie Williams

Williams, Charlie J. Gates: Departed this life peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Blossom North Skilled Nursing Facility in Rochester, NY. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a 35 year service employee retiring from General Motors. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Williams; his children, Olivia W. (Theo) Dorsey and Calvin Williams; two grandchildren, Kofi Williams and Lily Dorsey; brothers, Rev. Lawrence Williams and Rev. Adam L. (Irene) Williams; sister, Carrie W. (Rev. Edward) Childs; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Bernice) Bryant and Wallace (Helen) Hill; a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the 3rd Floor Blossom North Nursing Facility for their care and compassion. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Lifetime Care Hospice of Rochester for their support in the care of our loved one and a special thank you to Teresa. Family and friends are invited to call at the chapel of D.M. Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 2841 Culver Road, on THURSDAY, January 5, 2012, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated immediately following visitation. A private interment will be held at the Westside Cemetery at the family's convenience.
