Obituary of Shakeem Armstrong

Shakeem Kyre Armstrong was born March 5, 1991 (Tuesday of the ice storm) to Angelette Brown and Anthony Armstrong, at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York. Affectionately called "Shaq", He went to Elementary Schools 28 and 33 and East High School in the Rochester City School District. He also attended the For Fathers Program in which he learned various life skills and received other training. He had been employed at Dibella's Subs as a Crew Member for approximately two years. His greatest aspiration was to help others and see his family, friends and loved ones SMILE. He had many hobbies, including "Call of Duty" and skate boarding. An avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Lakers. Shaq departed this life June 22, 2012 leaving to cherish his memory: his parents,Angelette Brown and Anthony Armstrong; five brothers: Anthony, Terrace, Shaquan, Elijah, and Naseer; his one of a kind sister, Monique; grandparents, Mary Brown-Stevens, Susan Bartlett of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Johnny Brown of Rochester, New York; two nieces, Zariyona Armstrong and Naomi White-Armstrong; one nephew, Jamir Smith; his loving uncles and aunts: Shawn Hollister, Shawnta, Kenya, Maine, Trina and Tyjohnna Brown; his fiancee of three years, Destiny Ashford, several cousins, and a host of friends. Shakeem will really be missed by his smile, comfort, since of humor, and generosity. "I love you Lord, I love you Lord today" is a phrase that Shakeen would never want us to forget.
