Lawson, Karen L.
Karen L. Lawson was born on May 19, 1956 in Rochester, New York to Nathaniel and Phoebe Lawson. She attended grammer school at Number 9 School and went on to attend Benjamin Franklin High School.
She was reared in the Church Of God And Saints Of Christ under the Pastorship of Elder Joseph S. Jeffries. After many life experiences, Karen returned to the Church and was baptized under Elder Kenneth A. Roberts in Rochester, New York.
Karen's main occupation was caring for other people. She began her career at Flower City Nursing Home and prior to her illness worked in private duty nursing.
Anyone who knew Karen knows that she loved to have fun, and her favorite past-time was Bingo. She loved to travel and was fortunate to travel on four cruises. Karen's favorite sayin was,"Hel-lo".
She is predeceased by her parents, Nathaniel and Phoebe Lawson, and her daughter Talia Billups. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Shannon Lawson, grand-daughter Jonice Lawson, sisters Diana (Lawrence) Elsaw, Yvonne (Samuel) McCutchen, Gladys (Cornelius) Lawson-Watson, Shelly Lawson, Robin Lawson, brothers Gerald (Jacqueline) Lawson, Joseph Lawson, Emmanuel (Marilyn) Lawson; in addition to a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a very special friend Clade Ashelock.
