Harris, Ashley
Ashley Nicole Denise Harris was born on June 23, 1990. Ashley was a very outgoing young lady who had many aspirations.
A graduate and scholar of Wilson Magnet High School, Ashley was a member of the track team and photo club, in addition to a number of other clubs and organizations. Her love of music was apparent. She attended Eastman School of Music during 2002. She enjoyed playing the cello, piano, and clarinet.
Through Hillside Work Scholarship connection, Ashley was employed by Wegmans for several years enhancing her business and culinary experience.
As an aspiring chef, Ashley enrolled in Johnson Wales University in Charlotte, NC. As a Culinary Arts major, her passion for cooking motivated her to graduate with honors and receive an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts in 2010. Upon her return to Rochester, NY, she enrolled in Monroe Community College, and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. In June 2012, Ashley, a budding entrepreneur, launched her catering business, Express Chefs.
She was accepted at Rochester Institute of Technology and planned to continue her education in the fall of 2012.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lillie Mae McCown, paternal grandfather, Wayman Harris, Sr. , and uncles Robert McCown III, and Kenneth McCown. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Shirley McCown and Wayman Harris, Jr., brothers, Wayman L. Harris, Jonathan Harris; sisters, Gabrielle McCown, Aliyah Ghent and nephew Lamar Harris. Also cherishing her memory i sher maternal grandfather Robert McCown, Jr. and paternal grandmother,Izora M. Harris.
Godmother Sheila Williams, a special uncle Timothy McCown, Sr., a special mom Catherine Galvin, step-siblings Shanetta Dukes, Tynika Cox (David), and Ricky Galvin Jr. (Luz), and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
