Obituary of Dennis Peterson
Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dennis Lamar Peterson was born May 18, 1959 in Winter haven, Florida to the late Cleveland Jr. and Rosa L. Peterson.
He was the third oldest of seven children, affectionately nick-named "Bull" by his father, as at an early age displayed very stubborn tendencies. He was raised in Winter haven Florida where he attended Jewitt Grade School until the family moved to Rochester, New York in 1969.
In Rochester, Dennis attended the Rochester City Schools where he preferred subjects that challenged the mind through analysis to achieve the best results. Some of his favorite subjects were auto mechanics, electronics and machinery. After high school he attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Riverside School of Aeronautics in Utica, New York.
Dennis enjoyed a variety of hobbies and activities but had a serious passion for the game of chess. Dennis could play one game for days, hours and sometimes weeks and inspite of the patience required to play, he would often teach his younger siblings, spending countless enjoyable hours with them. Dennis' philosophy to the terms "Check" and "Check Mate" were the basics to ultimate survival in life, he taught this lesson to his younger siblings and lived his life accordingly likewise.
He spent the latter 14 years of his life residing in Somersworth, New Hampshire with his older brother "Pete" and worked with dedication and commitment for Applicator Sales. He made many friends and developed good relationships with his employer as well as co-workers. He loved life and laughter and touched all that came to know him.
Dennis was raised in a Christian faith home and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He departed this life suddenly on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital, Dover, New Hampshire.
