Marion Beaty was born September 7, 1926, in Clayton, Alabama to Lee and Emma Beaty. He was the 7th of 12 children. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 75 years, his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Marion and his wife Iola joined hands in Holy Matrimony on February 28, 1948. Marion became a Mason when he joined the Adam Lodge #279 in Clayton, Alabama in 1954. He served until 2014. He also worked for the Barbour County Shop, Department of Roads and Highways. While in Clayton, he attended Spring Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He and his wife moved to Rochester, New York, in December 1966, when they became members of the Church of God by Faith, Greater Adams Street, under the leadership of Elder David C. Roark. There, he served on the Deacon and the Usher Boards. He remained faithful until his health failed. Marion was employed at Eastman Kodak till his retirement. Thereafter, he worked for Joseph E. Hall Funeral Home. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and serving at his church.
Marion Beaty had three daughters, Kathy Scott in Clayton, Alabama, Reverend Bettye Hogans in Dothan, Alabama, and Katherine Williams-Parson in Rochester, NY.
Individuals that were very special to him were sister-in-law, Preadie M. Tucker, cousin-in-law Timothy & Willa Dean Williams, nephew Edward Rogers Jr. (Mae), niece Rosa Broadway (Thomas), nephew Cleodis Beaty (Germaine), nephew Jaime Lee Miller, friends Sister Blackwood, Pastor White and sister-in-law, Edith Hall. Several grandchildren, including one special grandson Jarvis Scott. Many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and friends whom he cherished and loved and likewise who cherished and loved him.
In their later years. Marion and his wife, Iola came to live with their nephew and niece, Kenneth and Antonia Beaty. Marion missed his wife dearly. She preceded him in death six months earlier on January 12, 2023. While asleep on July 10, 2023, Marion passed away peacefully. As much as he was loved here, God loved him more and called him home.
