Altimesee Carson was born December 18, 1951, in Sodus, New York to the late Mattie C. Lawson-Buchannan (Tat) and James Davis Dove. She attended school No.9 & No. 20 elementary and attended Franklin High School. Altimesee was the youngest of the four girls and out of the nine siblings known as “Tat” kids.
Altimesee received her certification as a nurses’ aide in the 1980’s. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly while being employed at Lakeshore Nursing Home. Altimesee was truly the exact meaning of her name; expressive, harmony & cheerful. Altimesee loved gathering with family/friends and having a good time, listening to music, and dancing. She was given the name “Boogie” because anytime she was around a party was sure to be started. Altimesee had three special cousins who were more like her sisters, Nadine, Elaine and the late Rosemary Putnam. She had a unique talent with giving nicknames to the ones she loved and had a gift to say the funniest things as she shared family stories and memories. Altimesee was a true soldier during her battle with cancer. Her main statement always was, “I am keeping my eye on the sparrow.”
Altimesee ended her battle with cancer and earned her wings on July 16, 2023. She is predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Gamble, grandson Anthony Lawson Jr., great-grandson Royale Hawkins, sister Joyce Dove and brothers Charles and Albin Hall. Altimesee leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: sons and daughter: Eriq (Maria) Lawson, Anthony “Toot” (Dee Dee) Lawson & Claudine (Larry) Smith; grandchildren: Eriq Jr., Najai, Ashley, Dominque, Diamond, Destinee, Desiree, Navayha, Larry Jr., Kay-Kay, Nema :great-grands: Manny, Rosalynda, Serenity, Eternity, Josiah, Kayomiee, Destinee, Delilah, Kayvon, Liliana, Mason, King , Arterio, Ashton; brothers and sisters: Alexander and Alan Hall, Betty Tyson, Delorise (Theo) Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
