Obituary of Gent Lee Daniels
Please share a memory of Gent to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reverend Gent Lee Daniels, Sr. was born October 2, 1924 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Bill Daniels and Viola Harris Daniels.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his tenure, he was honored with three Purple Hearts for his commitment and bravery in military service. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Upon completing his successful career in the military, Elder Gent Lee Daniels decided to further complete his life as his desire was to have a house full of children. He decided that the late Lares Riley-Daniels was the one to help fulfill this desire. The couple was united in marriage in Ormond Beach, Florida. During the early years of their marriage, this loving couple went to the Church of God by Faith in Florida and accepted Christ as their personal Savior. In 1956, Elder Daniels and his wife relocated to Rochester, New York where they chose the Church of God by Faith as their church home. Years later, they united with Full Gospel Fellowship under the leadership of the late Elder David Herd. Feeling the call of God on his life to preach the Gospel so others would come to know Christ, Elder Daniels answered 'the Call' and later founded his first church at 93 Central Park in Rochester, New York. The Lord called his wife, Lares Daniels home in 1996. He later married Evangelist Jeanne Daniels.
Elder Daniels was employed with Xerox Corporation for many years, retiring in 1998.
Elder Gent Lee Daniels, Sr. was preceded in death by: his parents, Bill Daniels and Viola Daniels; wife, Lares Riley-Daniels; 1 sister, Rosa Daniels; other relatives: Loretta Daniels, Francene Daniels, Diana Daniels, Danny Daniels and Jeremy Daniels.
