Jimmie Lee Graddic was born in Ocala, Florida on February 21, 1959 to Emma Goode and Lee Artist Graddic. He was one of 5 children. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School.  He attended Bryant and Stratton and received his Associates Degree in Accounting.

Jim met and married the love of his life Eloise Pope. He would always say “There goes my baby!  Their personalities complemented each other. They enjoyed a peaceful life together.

Prior to his illness Jim worked at The University of Rochester. He worked at Fresenius for almost 15 years as a certified dialysis technician. He was known as “Big Jim”. He was greatly loved by the staff, patients and their families. He was a star cannulator. He was hard working and served the company well.  He was dependable and serious about his work. He was a team player and got along well with his coworkers. He was highly respected by the management team. They knew that if they gave him a task it would be completed satisfactorily the first time.

Jim was a gentle giant.  He handled life at his pace. He loved his family dearly. He was a very active father in the lives of his two sons J'Quan and Jimel and bonus son Gregory Thompson. He had two grandchildren that were the joy of his life. They were his prince and princess.  Jim kept a close circle of friends. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking with them. Especially, Sherran and Will. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as listening to music. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Jim had a big personality.  He had a great sense of humor and a strong and infectious laugh. He was serious about his appearance. His clothes were always immaculate. He ironed and creased everything that he wore to perfection. He was never too far from a can of starch.
