Obituary of Alfonso James

Mr. Alfonso James, Jr., known to friends and family as "Pete", was born May 3, 1959 to the late Alfonso James and Rosebud Dees in Birmingham, Alabama. During his young adult years, he attended the Rochester City School District where he graduated from Franklin High School. He later worked for the Holiday Inn, downtown Rochester, New York. Most recently, he worked many odd jobs daily for several restaurants, stores and hair salons on Lake Avenue. Alfonso enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and his morning ritual of classical music and hot tea. Predeceased by his parents and one brother, James Allen Dees, Sr., Alfonso departed this life December 12, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memory: one nephew, James Allen Dees, Jr.; three nieces: Jasmine Dees, Nicole Purcell and Laura Purcell; three uncles: Sam Dees, Mansfield Ruben Dees and Joseph Dees; four aunts: Althree Lane, Cora Dees, Versey Dees and Elizabeth Dukes, and a host of cousins, including one very special cousin, Romell Reliford, other relatives and friends.
