Clarissa E. Starese Dennis-Jones, affectionately known as “Star”, was born April 12, 1937, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was the daughter of Maggie Dennis and Holley Jones. She departed this life September 5, 2022 in Rochester, New York.

Star attended school in Florida. After graduating high school, she traveled to New York where she contined her education, studying Cosmetology. She eventually relocated to Rochester where she was employed in a variety of occupations. Her employment history included positions with Bausch and Lomb, Inc., Monroe Developmental Center as a Nurse’s Aide, and Fountain View Retirement Community in Florida. She later returned to Rochester, New York to assist with raising her grandchildren.

She lived her life to the fullest. Star had a great love for the Lord and was quite active as a Missionary. She was a member of New Bethel C.M.E. Church and loved her church family.

Star is predeceased by her mother, Maggie Pickens and father, Hollie Jones. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory: one daughter, Dawn Campbell; six grandchildren (including Jodia Campbell, special granddaughter); one great grandchild; cousins: Rudy Jones, Raymon (Barb) Jones, Bertha Reynolds, Amy Mae Ashford, Kathleen (Calvin) Jones, Gene Harris, Rose Howard, Alvin Crawford, and Clemmie Ollie Jones; as well as a host of other relatives, friends and church family.
