Calvin H. Wilmer was born September 11, 1945 in Perry, Florida to the late Claude Wilmer, Sr. and Fannie Mae Butler. At a very early age, Calvin moved to Rochester, New York where he was reared by his two aunts, also known as his second mothers, the late Aldine Long and Johnnie Mae Green. Calvin attended and graduated from Madison High School in 1963 with Honors. He joined the Marine Corps in 1966. While serving his country he traveled abroad. He returned home and was united in holy matrimony to Miss Lillie Thomas, and to this union two children were born: Maurice and Yvette Wilmer. He was employed at Case Hoyt for over 27 years. During his tenure, he was appointed to the position of Supervisor of the General Floor Workers. He went on to work for the Laidlaw Bus Company and eventually retired as a well-respected Bus Trainer. All those who knew Calvin, knew he had a love for bowling. One of his special moments was when he bowled a perfect game.
