As an infant, her family moved to Milton, New York, where Tammy remained until high school. She attended Marlboro High School from 1976-1980. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Poughkeepsie, New York. There she obtained an Associate's Degree in Business from Dutchess Community College, in 1984. Two years later, in 1986, Tammy gave birth to her eldest daughter, Danielle, and just a year later gave birth to her last daughter, Monique.
After residing in Poughkeepsie until 1990, Tammy moved her family to Albany, New York. Remaining there one year, the family moved back to Poughkeepsie. In 1992, Tammy relocated to Rochester, New York, where she remained until her final resting. In Rochester, Tammy met lifetime companion, Jeffery Thomas, and they stayed together until his passing in 2011. During this time, Tammy also obtained another Associate's Degree, this time in Criminal Justice, from Monroe Community College. Thereafter, she was employed in managerial positions with several companies.
In 2009, Tammy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which caused complications that did not allow her to continue working. In her final years, Tammy dedicated her time to her family, and her faith.
