Bernice Aleatha Scott-Pinnock was born on November 23, 1955 in
Rochester, New York to Corean Finn and the late Arthur Scott. She was
the first born of three daughters. Bernice attended Rochester City Schools
and graduated from Franklin High School in 1973.

She then went on to the University of Buffalo to study communications. In
addition to graduating in 1978, she gave birth to her first blessing, Kesha
L. Washington (Strategy Manager and Senior Vice President at M&T Bank).
Bernice held several clerical positions including secretary at the Rochester
Psychiatric Center. In 1986, she married the late Patrick Pinnock and from
that union she gave birth to her second blessing, Nefetari “Neffee” Pinnock
Smith (Musician and Mental Health Advocate).

As a young woman, Bernice accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and
Savior at Holy City Church of God in Christ. She loved the Lord, enjoyed
praising God and continued her dedication at Rebirth Ministries where she
served as the Church Mother.

Bernice was lively and high spirited. She was kind, compassionate and a
force to be reckoned with. She was generous, lit up every room she entered
and would offer her thoughts and opinions with candor. Bernice was a
fashionista. She could wear a hat better than anyone. At church, she earned
the nickname, “Runway” for her style equating her to a runway model. Her
beauty was breathtaking.

Bernice loved life and loved her family especially her one and only grandson,
Jordan. When he was born, she created a special song for him that only she
could sing. Bernice loved music and learned to play the piano at an early
age. She enjoyed gospel music, but mostly jazz and reggae.

Bernice was a proud graduate of Liberty Manor where she began her journey
of living life free of drugs and alcohol. On January 11, 2022, she celebrated
32 years of “clean time” which she treasured. In 1993, Bernice became a
Licensed Practical Nurse and practiced nursing at the Rochester Psychiatric
Center until she retired in 2012.

Bernice was precious and deeply loved by all. On Thursday, April 21, 2022,
Bernice peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord as she slept. She leaves
to cherish her wonderful journey: Mother, Corean Finn; daughters: Kesha
L. Washington and Neffee Pinnock Smith (Colin); grandson, Jordan Ballard;
sisters: Christine Wright and Veronica Scott; brothers: Keith Ravenell and
Arthur Scott; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
