Obituary of Shirley Lorraine Reynolds
Shirley Lorraine Reynolds was born on January 7, 1961 in Leighton, Alabama
to Betty Lewis and Willie H Little. In Leighton, Shirley attended Colbert County
High School and Leighton Training School. In 1969 Shirley, along with her
parents, relocated to Hot Springs, Arkansas until 1970 where they settled in
Rochester, New York. As a child, she loved playing in the rain and hopscotch.
As a teen, Shirley attended Madison and Franklin High school. In the early 80’s
she met William Reynolds and they officially married in 1991.
Shirley had a caring heart and nurturing spirit -- always willing and ready to lend
a helping hand. She worked as a health caregiver for HCR and part-time cashier.
Shirley enventually retired from the Center for Disability Rights. “Shell” as we
called her, enjoyed playing bingo and cards with family and friends. She also loved
playing the boardgame Trouble with her Aunt Rebecca. She frequently traveled
to Alabama to visit family and spoke of one day returning to her hometown to live.
She loved to shop and always had her shopping list ready. If you ever went out of
town to a southern state then you knew pecans, watermelon, souse meat, and
longhorn cheese was always at the top of her list.
Shell was a loving, caring mother and friend. A comedian in her own special way,
If you ever visited Shell at her home you would always hear her playing music
by her favorite artists like Tasha Cobbs, Rance Allen, Marvin Sapp, Paul Porter &
MO3.
Shell is predeceased by her father Willie Howard Little; mother Betty Lewis;
grandparents: Robert Lewis and Annie Maude Lewis; brother Hillard Little and
