J. D. Pipkins was born August 3, 1931 to the late Leroy Pipkins, Sr., and Bessie (White) Pipkins in Midway, Alabama. Bro. Pipkins was blessed to attend Merritt High School and Hayes Hill Baptist Church.

After relocating to Haines City, Florida, he met and married Luecresie Wiley on June 27, 1953. In 1963 the family relocated to Sodus, NY. Bro. Pipkins was affectionately recognized as a quiet man, who took care of and respected his family.

He loved grocery shopping as well as cooking family meals. During every holiday, the family looked forward to enjoying one of his signature dishes (dressing and salmon patties). At Christmas time, Bro. Pipkins took great pride in preparing his envelopes with the monetary gifts for every family member. During winter visits, he would clean the snow off the children’s cars, and say, “Watch out for deers and drive safely back to Rochester”. He was an avid supporter of his children engaging in sports and always picked them up after school. Every Friday, his family could not wait for their trip to Rawden’s Dairy for ice cream. Bro. Pipkins loved to drive and often took his family to the local fruit stand to purchase their special fruit. Favorite activities included daily visits to the local coffee shop to meet with his comrades, watching baseball, and taking fishing trips to the Thousand Island area. Bro. Pipkins worked for 30 years at Duffy Mott Corporation, Williamson, NY.

Bro. Pipkins united with Little Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Trustee Board. Bro. Pipkins was a great man of faith, which led to his transformed life in Jesus Christ. Bro. Pipkins is predeceased by Father, Leroy Pipkins Sr.; Mother, Bessie White Pipkins; and Brothers: Leroy Pipkins Jr., Charlie Pipkins, and Britt Pipkins. Sisters: Jessie Mae Lewis, Adeline Grant and Bessie Pipkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 68+ years, Luecresie, his children: Ruth (Bishop Amos) Simmons, J. D.
