Obituary of Dolores L. Forbes
Dolores L. Forbes was born on July 22, 1950 in Rochester, NY to the late George Leach and Dorothy Louise Leach. She grew up in a loving household with her younger siblings Pamela and James.
Dolores attended and graduated from East High School, where she met the love of her life Fred Forbes. As if out of a classic love story he was a star basketball player while she was a cheerleader cheering him on every game.
They were married on August 20, 1971, and had 3 sons that she loved with all her heart and raised them with the same warmth and goodness that she had growing up.
Dolores graduated from Monroe Community College majoring in nursing. Professionally she worked as a registered nurse for 42 years. Later while juggling her career and family she went on to earn her Bachelors's degree from St. John Fisher College.
The same empathy and compassion that she displayed for her patients were provided to anyone that knew her. She radiated strength and confidence in anything that she was a part of and had a wonderful sense of humor to go with it.
Once she became a grandmother the love for her family increased tremendously. She enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with her grandchildren. Time with her family on holidays and other special occasions meant the world to her and something she cherished deeply.
Dolores was also very devoted to God and her church family at the Church of Love Faith Center. An avid reader she spent hours reading the word and other positive literature on her path of continued enlightenment.
She passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022, at the age of 71, surrounded with love from her husband and sons. Dolores was preceded in death by her father George Leach, mother Louise Leach, and sister Pamela (Leach) Douglas. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, James Leach; husband, Fred Forbes; three sons and their spouses, Michael and Tanya Forbes, Brian and Jennifer Forbes and Matthew Forbes; two grandchildren, Arianna Forbes and Braylon Forbes. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
