Obituary of Jeffrey Harris

Jeffrey Robert Harris was born in Rochester, NY on January 5, 1960. He departed this life on January 12, 2022. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Edward Jonas Harris, brother George William Cox III “Billy”, and Special sister Crystal Wright.

Jeffrey was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He served his country from 1977, with an honorable discharge in 1983. He was employed by HickeyFreeman o Inc., Riverside Cemetery, and most recently, Rochester Housing Authority. He loved his old-school music 100%. He loved playing drums in his family band and more than anything with his son, Jerel. He lived to help others. He was very good with his hands and could fix anything (so he thought anyway, sometimes it was just quick fixes that would “BE OKAY”- as long as he had his music and his BUDdy, he would get the job done. He loved to barbeque, but would never eat with the crowd. However, he was sure to make everyone laugh. BUT his MOST prized possession and joy was his family. He loved them and would say it to each one, every time he saw them. He was so proud to also be a grandfather.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Three sons, Jeffrey Harris Jr, Jerel Harris, and Jevonte Harris all of Rochester, NY. His MOMMY, Audrey Gamble. Step-father, Jessie Gamble. Brother, Edward (Thomasina) Harris. Sister, Debra Harris. Stepbrother, Steven Gamble. Step sister Lori (Garrett) Saunders. Sister– in-love, Pamala Cox-Hastings, Special Brother: Ricky Wright. Special Sisters: Diane Raymond, Evelyn Smith, Stephanie West, Tammy West, and Shelly Boyd. Grandchildren, Shiloh Harris, Luka Harris, and Leonidas Harris. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Special friend: Vivian Reed.
