Obituary of Jacqueline Patricia Pollins

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

When God stepped out in space to start the creation process, He looked around in the darkness and considered everything that would be needed to make the earth and mankind successful. With his omniscient mind in looking forward He looked at the year of 1944 and decided that in midyear one would be needed who would supersede nobly and “lead by example” to encourage others.

Being the good God that He is He decided that on July 21, 1944, He would bless Lilla Pollins with a baby girl and shortly afterwards call her home for work on earth would be completed. And so it was on that day God said “Let there be light” and Jacqueline whose name means to supersede, Patricia, whose name means noble was born in Brooklyn, New York.

He used Dora Brown to give her the nurturance she needed and her aunt Queen Esther Bowers to impart the spiritual she would need for the calling on her life. Jacqueline was educated in grammar school in Smoaks, SC. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn, NY. Jackie loved reading and studying more than anything else even in childhood. Jackie pursued her love for learning by getting a diploma from Rochester Institute of Christian Education and Roberts Wesleyan College in Christian Education.

Jackie’s life was filled (as all of ours) with both joys and sorrows. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving high performance cars. Jackie took the charge of God and superseded in many ways. She superseded as a mother working to give to her children the best quality of life that she could give and as an employee at both French’s Mustard and as a Set-Up Operator at Valeo (General Motors) preparing the machines for others to complete the work.

Jackie superseded as a friend giving sound advice, loving, and supporting in whatever way she could. She superseded as the financial secretary at Greater Deliverance Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Danes making sure the church’s financials were in order. She superseded as a Sunday School teacher at the Bible Institute at Abundant Life Ministries under Apostle Ulysses Colson studying and preparing to teach others the truths of God. Jackie superseded as an usher humbly serving others to bring comfort to them in the house of God. She cleaned the church and transported anyone who needed a ride. She faithfully served until her health would no longer allow. When Jackie’s work was complete, she humbly and quietly closed her eyes, shed a tear, and went on to be with God.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory three children Pamela, Loretta and Fredrick Young of Rochester, NY, two grandsons; four great grandchildren; brother, Theodore Westin; a very special friend, Wilma Pugh; goddaughter, Louise Moore of Seneca Falls, NY; a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded by her children’s father Napolean Young and a son, Napolean Young, Jr.
