The Journey of Dawn Patricia (Pat) Goode

June 16, 1954-September 28, 2021

On June 16, 1954, a ray of Caribbean sun shone brightly as life was brought forth through the parents of Keith McFayden and Beryl Campbell, Ms. Dawn Patricia (Pat) (née McFayden) Goode. Kingston, Jamaica was her birthplace and home until 1970. It would be that year on October 11 when she would leave her “Out of Many One People” country to come to America (Rochester, NY) in hopes of greater opportunities.

After completing high school, Pat made the decision to serve her new home by joining the United States Air Force where she proudly served a four-year term. As her military career evolved, she became a mother to two amazing sons, and, in 1981, returned to Rochester where she would become an exceptional businesswoman. She established a business as an Allstate Insurance Agent and served her Brooks Avenue community for many years.

Pat was profoundly adept in the field of insurance and made sure she shared her knowledge, importance, and the need for insurance “101” with her community. There wasn’t a customer who did not feel her “motherly care” as she took care of their insurance needs. Her words meant business and they knew it. And because of her way with words, she was honored with countless accolades throughout the Rochester area for her remarkable work.

Pat LOVED being a mother to Patrick and Kevin. She was the most loving, supportive, no-nonsense mother she could be. Whether you heard her cheering loudly in the basketball stands, or running along the football sidelines, there was no question who she was there to see. She was extremely proud of her sons and equally proud to be a grandmother. She was a generous giver, not just in support of her sons and grandchildren, but to her family. She loved deeply.

On September 28, 2021, the woman who was loved by many departed this life suddenly and left an unfillable void in our hearts. Preceded by her brother Carlton (Carrie) McFayden, she leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Patrick Goode, and Kevin (Samone) Goode; her parents Keith (Mary) McFayden and Beryl Campbell; siblings Jennifer (Riley) Chambers, Collin (Denise) Thomas, Rev. Keith (Emma) McFayden, Christopher (Delveeta) McFayden, Deon McFayden, Joan McFayden, and Joseph McFayden Sr. Also, stepsiblings Victoria (Herman) Tanksley, Michael Edwards, and Teresa Edwards. Ten grandchildren, Kerisha Goode, Kevin Goode Jr., Marquise Sabalier, Kaia Goode, Kemani Goode, Klarissa Goode, Kaleb Matthews, A’lejah Miller, Kayden Goode, and Kenadee Goode. Her memories will also be kept in the hearts of a host of nieces, nephews, a multitude of family and friends, and her housemate and best friend, CoCo Tea. 

Our love for you could not outdo God, as your need is now in Heaven. Your memory, impact, legacy, and love will live on forever.
