Obituary of Ester Lee Hampton

Ester Hampton, born August 9, 1957 to Rebecca Ellerbe of  Hamlet, North Carolina and Harry Hampton of Chicago, Illinois, passed  away on the afternoon of July 15th, 2021 at the age of sixty-three with  her daughters by her side.  

Ester is survived by her three daughters: Minnie Hampton, April  Hampton and Rebecca Hampton; grandchildren: Kevin Weaver, Donyell  Weaver, Zayne Hampton (boodaboodas), Chantynai Hampton (Love bucket), Dwight Gerald Hampton, Justin Hampton, and Alexis Ortiz (Lexi  Poo). Also, great-grandchildren: Mariyah, Aniyah, Brandyn and Jah’meir;  her siblings: Jackie Hampton, Russell Hampton, Annette Hampton-David  and Richard Hampton as well as nieces, nephews, and family she picked  up along the way.  

Ester was loved and will be missed by so many. She had such a presence  and energy that you could not help but to love her. Her beautiful smile  could brighten anyone’s day. Despite the many obstacles that she faced  throughout her life, she faced them without fear and that was the way  she lived her life. She always taught us to be fearless and to live fearless.  She spoke her mind, even without being asked, but in hindsight, she was  always right. Her most favorite thing to do was be around family. It didn’t  matter the occasion, anytime spent with family was the best time. We will  always have those memories that time will never erase. We love and miss  you so much!
