Catherine Williams

Obituary of Catherine L. Williams

Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Catherine was a quintessential African American woman, born in a small town. Catherine relocated to Rochester, NY after the untimely death of her mother.

She moved to Rochester with her sister Geneva and her nephew Melvin Stewart. The three moved in with their beloved Aunt Katherine, whom Catherine was named after. Aunt Katherine became like a second mother to her and their bond was inseparable. Aunt Lula also helped to shape and mold her during her formative years. Over the years Catherine became a second mother to Melvin Stewart and their bond became unbreakable.

Catherine believed in Christ and when unable to go to church she watched it on TV. She loved listening to gospel music.

Catherine loved and adored her (late) husband, children, grand and great-grand. Catherine was TRULY all about her family and did not believe in having any misunderstandings about it. Catherine never believed in holding grudges.

Catherine believed in working for “what you want {in Life}. She went to work ANY way she could, either walking, taking the bus OR if necessary calling a taxi. She would say “depend on yourself and no one else what other’s do for you is a BONUS”.
