Obituary of Thomas J. Pyatt

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mr. Thomas Pyatt, affectionately known as “TJ” was
born on September 5, 1948 in Georgetown, South
Carolina to the late James and Nellie Frierson Pyatt.
TJ was educated in the Horry County School system.
He joined the Job Corps where he obtained his GED.
In 1968, TJ relocated to Rochester, New York with his
sister Louise. He worked for several companies
including Teale Machine and Gleason Works. TJ also
worked construction, specifically roofing, and was the
family handyman. In 1973, his beautiful daughter
Laverne was born.
TJ knew how to have a good time. You had to love him.

He loved music, he loved to dance and most important-
ly, he loved his family. TJ was also a good cook. In his

love of life he enjoyed hobbies of fishing and gardening.
TJ preferred riding his bicycle -- we called it his “two
wheeled Cadillac”.
On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at age 72, TJ entered into
eternal rest. He is preceded by his mother and father,
and his brothers: William, Hardy, James and Arthur

“Bub”. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daugh-
ter, Laverne Evans of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Louise

Weaver, Emily Williams and Nellie (Reggie) Kittles of
Conway, SC and Carrie (Vandy) Wright of Rochester,
NY; his brother, Joe Nathan (Debra) Pyatt of Stone
Mountain, GA; 2 grandchildren, Marquisa and Markeith

Evans; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other rela-
tives and friends, including his special friend, Rosetta Johnson.
