Obituary of Nassoma M. Turner

Please share a memory of Nassoma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nassoma Maisaiah Turner-McMillan, affectionally known as “Nook”, blessed the lives of Isaiah and Joanne Turner, with her presence on November 16, 1972, in Rochester, New York. Nook attended a Christian elementary school, Gates Baptist Temple for a few years then continued her education in the Rochester City school district and later decided to leave Rochester to attend job core. She later moved to Birmingham Alabama where she worked as a security guard for a short time before returning home to Rochester. She was always an adventurous child, very brave, outgoing and loved to travel. Nassoma traveled many roads which led her to be a loving, social butterfly. She was indeed a humorous, God fearing young lady with a strong determination to extend her contagious love to her family, friends, her pets and anyone that crossed her path. Nook was everyone’s “FAVORITE”, the life of the party. She always made herself available, always a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, provided a plate of food, a glass of wine, a place to sleep and the list goes on. She was one of the “realest” people you could ever meet. Nook spoke her mind, even if you didn’t agree or didn’t want to hear it. She loved God and all of her family, far and near. Nassoma will be dearly missed, along with those early morning phone calls. Heaven has surely gained an angel.

Nassoma is preceded in death by her loving father, Isaiah Turner and beloved brother Kevin Turner. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Arcadio McMilllan, her loving mother Joanne Turner, her cousin Earl Caesar, who she held in her heart as her own Son, cousin Randy Jackson, two nieces, AnneMarie and Yvonne Vega, her siblings and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones who she truly adored.
