Page of Life Pamela Ervin was born September 23, 1953 to the late Kelly and Pauline Ervin, Sr. of Andrews, South Carolina. The fifth of eight children. She was predeceased by her siblings Kelly (Martha) Ervin Jr., Iva Nell Ervin, Kenneth B. Ervin, and Willie Dean Ervin. They await her arrival in heaven with open arms. During her younger years, she attended St. Mark Elementary and High School where she sang in the choir and attended Mt. Zion AME church until her relocation to Rochester, New York. She worked for SevRite at the St. John Fisher College campus and later she was employed with St. John’s Nursing Home until her retirement. She always had a heart for children, at the age of 16 she was charged with raising her oldest niece, Corintha Truitt. She has raised numerous nieces, nephews, and foster children, been a babysitter to many, and loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Her home was open to everyone. Never did she turn away a person in need. She loved to cook and host large family gatherings where all were welcomed. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her kindness, her generosity, her sense of humor, her unwavering strength and endurance and her devotion to her family. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Machell Ervin (Rochester, New York) and Remona Ervin (Florence, South Carolina), grandchildren, Jelecia Ervin (Rochester, New York) and Raniah Ervin (Florence, South Carolina) her honorary son, Craig Hardgers (Rochester, New York) and honorary granddaughter, Dysani Washington (Rochester, New York); her sister, Barbara Nesmith (Rochester, New York); her brothers, John Stanley Ervin (Rochester, New York) and Leslie Ervin (Andrews, South Carolina), one Godson, Kourtney Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
