Obituary of Jeffrey Douglas Capers

Please share a memory of Jeffrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeffrey Douglas Capers, Sr. transitioned from this life on July 20, 2020. We smile knowing that he is fishing every day, debating Oakland Raiders draft picks and politics with his dad Jim and dancing with his grandmother Flora (who always boasted of being able to out dance him with her “high-heeled sneakers”). Doug was born on April 25, 1971 in Brooklyn, NY to Jim and Eunice Capers. He is survived by his sons Jeffrey Jr. and Jordan Damien and their mom Jessica (former spouse); his mother Eunice Capers; sister Karen Capers-Lee (Maya, Alex and great-niece E’lynn); brother David Capers (Brandyn, Deja and great-niece Brazil), former sister-in-law Windy Capers; his uncle Roosevelt “Buck” Capers (Debbie, Justice, Donna, Crystal, Kenyatta and Tasha); his aunt Sarah Artis (Bobby) and a host of loving family and friends. Doug is preceded in death by his grandmother Lela Daniels, his father Jim Capers and grandmother Flora Capers-Forrest. The family is so thankful to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Doug will be memorialized in a private ceremony on August 8, 2020. During this difficult time, expressions of sympathy can be sent to D.W. Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 2793 Culver Road, Rochester, NY.
