Obituary of Prinus Maurice Buckman
Please share a memory of Prinus to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Prinus Maurice McGowan (Buckman) aka “P” was born December 31, 1969 to Patricia McGowan and Lucius Buckman. As a youth Prinus attended Number 2 and Number 16 schools. You would often find Prinus playing a multitude of sports at Montgomery Center and Aberdeen Square. As an adolescent Prinus was well known for his break dancing talents and gymnastic abilities to include back flips, somersaults and walking on his hands. Prinus continued on to attend East High school where he played football and basketball. As a teenager Prinus could be seen all over town driving his moped or his Dodge shadow, enjoying life, hanging out with friends and family “Wazz up Fuzznuts".
Prinus began creating his legacy at age 20; his son Prinus Jr. was born, soon after, followed his only daughter Myia. Prinus continued on to become a skilled laborer with superior craftmanship. Under the tutelage of his “Dad” at E. Porter General Contracting (EPGC) he continued on to become further skilled in Asbestos Removal, Commercial Construction and Home Renovations. However, the projects most near and dear to his heart were the projects he completed for friends and family (Painting, remodeling, and even tree house building).
Prinus a devout Christian and Lover of Jesus Christ was a blessing to many. Every encounter with Prinus began with a loving greeting and warm embrace. He often gave words of encouragement and spiritual advice; “ You Got This”, “God Speed Jesus timing”, “Covered in the Blood”, “ Say Your Prayers Rabbit”. His smile and infectious laugh inspires us all to give unconditional love. Prinus is forever our protector and loving confidant. “ God Bless Nothing Less”.
Leaving to cherish his memory loving Mother, Father, two children Prinus M. McGowan Jr., Myia S. McGowan; six grandchildren Lamiya, Prinus III, Amyia, Brandon, Jeremiah, Paris, five sisters and five brothers. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and special friends.
Prinus “Brat” Loving Grandfather, father, son, brother, Uncle, cousin and friend. Your legend lives on with your “earth angels” that remain steadfast. We Love You Always, Forever and Unconditionally.
I’ve done my work, I’ve sung my song
I’ve done some good, I’ve done some wrong,
Now I must go where I belong.
The Lord has willed it so,
He knows my heart and every thought,
He knows what pain and joy I brought.
And by his love I shall be taught
The way to him I know.
