"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want". . . . . Houston Morgan was born on February 8, 1929 in Greenville, Alabama to the late Lee L. Morgan and Beulah Mae Hines. He attended school in Greenville. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1954. He was united in holy matrimony to Elnora Ewing on April 2, 1957 and to this union one child was born. Houston Morgan joined the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on December 28, 1997 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Harmon E. Stockdale where he attended faithfully every Sunday until his health began to fail. He was a devoted and loving father, husband, grandfather, cousin, uncle and great friend and neighbor. He worked in the field of construction for 32 years at the Abraham Construction Company. Additionally, he was a member of Local 435. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Houston lost his health battle on March 31, 2020. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Elnora Morgan, daughter, Kathleen Morgan and granddaughter, Natoya Thompson. He is survived by Darilyn Scott of Pensacola, Florida, grandson, Leroy (Chassidy) Thompson, great grandsons, Elijah (Gloria) Thompson and Macen Thompson, cousins, Bernice Baldon and Rick and Corrine Finn, caretaker, Timothy Squire, other relatives, friends and church family. . . . Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever - Psalm 23:6
