Obituary of Minnie Jackson
Please share a memory of Minnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Minnie "Mymie Jones" Jackson was born October 10, 1919 to Elijah and Rebecca Jones.
Minnie accepted the Lord early in life. She was a faithful disciple and a founding member of Faith, Hope & Charity Worship Center (formerly known as Friendship Baptist Church) under the leadership of Pastor John and Co-Pastor Theresa T. Crocker. Sister Jackson had a heart of gold and a spirit of giving. If anyone expressed a need, she would do what she could to help.
Minnie worked for many years at several hotels in the Rochester area. She was also employed by Highland and Iola Hospitals. She was also a caretaker of many children throughout her years. She was full of life and love.
Her interests consisted of fishing, caring for children and molding a strong family. In her later years, when she was not able to get around, she enjoyed riding around town. When it was warm outdoors, she would sit on her swing or in her Jeep. She loved and embraced family, friends and also perfect strangers.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Wanda (Marvin) Parker, Raymond (Marcia) Lovette, Donald (Diane) Campbell, Phyllis (Wilson) Brown, Loretta Reeves, Lawrence (Judy) Campbell; her grandchildren, Marvin Jr. (Chisa), Marcus, Tekelia, Mia, Micah, Renee, Marcus, Dionna, Raymond Jr., Dawn Lynn, Diondre, Manny, George, Bobby, Kim, Nicole, Andre; fourteen great grandchildren, Coriana, Armonie, Markell, Marianna, Dayondra, Donte, Nicholas, Christian, Anthony, Amber, Arren, Janae, Janeth, and Jasmine; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a host of friends.
