Obituary of Helen Sharpe

Helen Sharpe was born to the union of the late Ceasar and Addie McFadden on March 8, 1937 in Kingstree, South Carolina. She was one of thirteen children.
In 1956 she graduated from Tomlinson High School in Kingstree, South Carolina. She went on to attend Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina where she received her Associates degree.
At the age of twenty-one she moved to Brooklyn, New York where she worked as a teacher's assistant. Later, at the age of thirty-one she moved to Rochester, New York. Helen enrolled in Empire State College and received her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. She was employed at Downtown Daycare Center, Genesee Day Care, Rochester City School District, and retired from ABC/Headstart after ten years of service.
Helen loved interacting with children, believed in God and gave her life to Him. Missionary Sharpe passed into eternal rest on the morning of Saturday, June 9, 2007.
She leaves cherished memories to her children, Faythella Cooper and Tawonda McFadden; sisters, Queen (Issac) Jackson, Mary Jarrett, Evelyn (William) Parker, Patsy (Joe) Dukes, Willette (Thomas) Scott, and Barbara McFadden; brothers, Elliott (Arguster) McFadden, John (Debra) McFadden, and Morgan (Ida) McFadden; six grandchildren, Maurice McClary, Tonika Gibson, Jeremy Cooper, Dominick Joe Cotton, StarAsia Bailey, Armani Angel McFadden; seven great grandchildren; aunts, Viola Fishbourne, Stina Reid, Louise McFadden; uncle, John Burroughs; loving life-long friends, Edith Snowden and Ruth Parson; her deacon, Dea. Madison Nesmith; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her.
