Obituary of Tyrone McRay

Tyrone McRay was born in Rochester, NY on December 29, 1971 to Rosa Lee McRay and Willie Cason Jr. He attended #19 School and Rochester Christian Academy where he accepted Jesus as his lord and savior. Tyrone was a 1990 graduate of Gates-Chili High School. He loved to play football and was known not only for his athleticism but his genial nature. He was known as a gentle giant and always had a big smile. He was Most Valuable Player in Section Five during his football career and went on to play for University of Buffalo until an injury ended his career. Tyrone worked at Rochester Gas & Electric in Gas Installation for more than 10 years where he was very well liked. He remained there until his death. Tyrone was well thought of and well loved. Everyone who knew him has many fond memories of him from his warm smile to his caring nature to his true comedic wit. He had the ability to make people laugh but also to laugh at himself. There were three great loves of his life. The first being his mother, the second being his daughter Tyasia, whom he affectionately called Munch and the third being football. Tyrone departed this life for his heavenly home on December 13, 2008. He went home to be with his heavenly father and his maternal grandfather: Huey McRay; Great Aunts: Lillie Ruth (Willie Fred) Williams, Alline (Sonny) Jackson; Aunt: Katrina Clark; Brother: Willie Banks. Myers, Fl.
