Obituary of Alberta Archer

Please share a memory of Alberta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our Beloved Alberta Archer was born October 18, 1958 in Bronx, New York to the late Albert Archer and Hallie Sherman Bingham. She received her education from P.S. 54 Elementary and 136 Junior High in Bronx, New York. She atttended Job Corp in Cleveland, Ohio where she pursued a career in nursing. She went on to attend Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester, New York and finally received her diploma from Camden High school in New Jersey.

Alberta enjoyed a full life, was outgoing and a people person. She enjoyed working at Walt Disney World in Florida and was a manager at McDonalds in Florida and Rochester, New York.

Alberta loved and enjoyed fishing and card games. She had a passion for creative writing. An Avid music lover and #1 fan of Michael Jackson with a very large collection of memorbilia. Aside from traveling, shopping, music, and family, Alberta was a die hard sports fan and devoted San Franscisco 49ers fan. She rarely missed an opportunity to throw Superbowl parties in support of her team and the love of the game. Alberta’s personality was very well known to many, outspoken and “tell it like it is” whether you liked it or not. She had one of the biggest hearts in the neighborhood and could turn a frown upside down on just about anyone. Without question her door was always open to anyone in need or hungry or just plain tired. Her words of encourgement were powerful and imprinted on the hearts of all she touched -- leaving you ready to take the world by storm. She was the true definition of an “auntie”. It wasn’t uncommon to NOT be called by your real name because Alberta was a witty wordsmith with a knack for giving a person their very own orignial nickname based on her perception of them. She was fiery yet sweet and never one to hold her tongue about anything,no matter how it was received. She famously stated her opinion with a few of her well known sayings “You’re a piece of work” or “Oh stop playing”. Although bold and outspoken, Alberta had a softer side when it came to loving her family, who she absolutely did not play about. She enjoyed spending time them and also periodically dedicated her thanks to God for all she had at the Church of Love.

Alberta peacefully went home to be with our Lord and Saviour on Wednesday Novemeber 23, 2021 at Rochester General Hospital Rochester, New York.
